Vocation

First of all, a vocation is a call from God and a great grace. Ordinarily, it comes to those disposed to hear the call. A vocation to the contemplative life of a Nun presupposes a life of faith and prayer and the desire to return God's love by consecrating one's life to Him through the evangelical vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.

We are committed to the perpetual praying of the Our Lady's Rosary, both day and night. Each Sister taking an "Hour of Guard", meditating on the joyful, luminous, sorrowful and glorious mysteries, contemplating Jesus with the Heart of Mary.

Our principal observances include: Vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience; liturgical prayer- daily Liturgy of the Eucharist, Liturgy of the Hours; Private prayer- 2 hours daily in meditation, rosary and Lectio Divina; Withdrawal from the world through papal enclosure, silence and solitude; Study of Scripture and other spiritual sciences; Work; Common life and Recreation.

The Phases of Formation are comprised of: Aspirancy, 2 to 4 wks of optional live-in experience; 1- yr Postulancy; 2 - yr Novitiate; 3 years of Temporary Vows, including one year of integration; culminating in perpetual, Solemn Vows.

The main requirements of a candidate are: Proper Age, 20 - 40 (exceptions can be made for suitable candidates); Right Motivation; Good Health (Physical and Mental); Psychological Maturity; Sufficient Education; Freedom from canonical impediments, debts or family obligations.
